Víctor Valdés's debut with Manchester United on Sunday has been postponed. The Spanish goalkeeper was to make his first appearance with the Red Devils as David de Gea is temporary off the pitch with a finger issue.
The Mancudian side face Arsenal this weekend, so Valdés was gearing up for his Old Trafford debut against the Gunners. However, the appearance has been put back. Instead, the Danish keeper Anders Lindegaard is now tipped to take the line-up spot.
ManU officials claim that Valdés has not yet recovered from a serious knee injured he sustained last year. The player strained his knee during a match against Celta.
Now, the Catalan Panter has been given some time to get into stride. ManU stern coach Louis Van Gaal has agreed to it and given the nod to a moderate approach.
Under normal market conditions Valdés ought to wait for the winter transfer window to be presented as new signing. The course of events after De Gea's injury could speed up the procedure. FIFA rules provide for fast-track signings when players have to leave the field with a serious injury.
However, Valdés is itching to slip into the Red Devils top. He made it clear via Twitter on 9 November, where he has made a preliminary comeback. The player's last message dated back to April. Over the last days he seems to have got back in the mood of tweeting.
On Sunday, Valdés posted two messages showing a quiet family day in with his wife Yolanda Cardona and his three children Kai, Dylan and Vera. Precisely, his youngest daughter Vera blew out two candles on Sunday.
