The ex-Liverpool Matador Luis Suárez is going to great lengths to nurture his friendship with Leo Messi. The striker, signed for the Catalan giants for 81 million euros last summer, has bought a 2,000 sqm property, Diario Gol can exclusively reveal. The luxury pad is located opposite Leo Messi's property in the leafy suburb of Castelldefels (Barcelona). Its price is set at 2.9 million euros.

Suárez is regarded as Andrés Iniesta's protegé in the bosom of the Spanish maestros. The two players share the same agent. However, Suárez was told that his problems could come from other quarters before moving to Barcelona. He was strongly advised to strike up a rapport with the Argentinian.

He is taking pains to become best mates with Messi. The pair can be seen training together and joining efforts on and off the pitch.

It is believed that Suárez is trying to avoid a mistake made by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa: both fell out with the pint-sized Ballon d'Or. The same occurred to Bojan Krkic and Cristian Tello.

Bond

For all the precautions taken by Suárez, the player and Leo Messi have clicked easily. Both share similar background –hail from South American countries-. Also, their bond has been cemented by their performance in the pitch. The "Pistolero" (Spanish for gunman) feeds Messi with assists that in turn generate a number of chances.

Before every training session, the two players will chit-chat animatedly over a cup of mate or brew. Now, Luis Suárez seems to want to seal that friendship by moving to a property next to the Argentinian. The operation would not have seen the light unless the Argentinian had not agreed, experts said.

Whatever the moves before the operation, the property is one to die for. The swanky villa is undergoing a revamp. It spans 10,000 sqm on the slopes of Castelldefels.

No more details can be disclosed so as to protect both players' privacy.

2.9 milion euros

The player has bought a plot of land encroaching 2.000 sqm meters, sources confirmed. Its former owner priced it at 2.9 million euros, but the player might have brought down that price to 2.5m.

That sum is the budget earmarked by the player's wife Sofía Balbi. The beau was reported to be seeking a home in Castelldefels and Gavá after Suárez was announced as new signing.

The couple might have found their love nest. Painted in warm ochre tones, the villa has been done up by a contractor recently. It boasts a spacious garden and veranda, ample garage and two stories.

The couples' children Delfina and Benjamín are set to make the most of the villa's two outdoor pools. Nested atop a hill, the Suárez will gain unrivalled views over Castelldefels beach.

3rd move in five months

In his 3rd month as Barça player, Luis Suárez has moved into as many properties. On arrival, the player moved into his in-laws' home in Can Bou (Castelldefels). The arrangement proved inadequate. Groups of onlookers staked out at the gates, making normal life impossible.

A short time later, Suárez moved out. The player targeted a 12,000 euro a month gaff in Gavà Mar. The house is still his current abode. Now, Suárez is said to be itching to move into his own home. Once ended the settling-in period, the player will have become Messi's new next-door neighbour, filling a gap left by Cesc Fábregas.
